Sgaravatti & C. Sementi S.p.A. carries on an ancient family tradition that began in the early 19th century.

Our roots go back to Saonara, near Padua, where the family began cultivating plants with passion as early as the late 18th century. The business was officially registered with the Chamber of Commerce in 1820.
With around 300 hectares of nurseries, we produced fruit trees, ornamental plants, flowering species, shrubs and evergreens — becoming a true benchmark in the European nursery industry.

Our catalogues circulated throughout Italy, featuring covers illustrated by renowned artists such as Dudovich and Codognato, iconic figures of early 20th-century art and advertising.

For over two centuries, we have relied on the same core ingredients: quality, innovation and customer orientation. Research has always been essential to us — as early as the beginning of the 1900s, we had a laboratory dedicated to studying plant diseases, demonstrating our continuous commitment to knowledge and quality.

By the early 1950s, our story reached Tuscany, first in Montevarchi (AR) and later in Pergine Valdarno (AR) in 1972, where we brought our expertise, values and family tradition to new soil.
